Free programs for kids who need it most.

NYRR teaches kids in underserved schools to run; the children also learn about setting and achieving goals. Kids without physical education in their schools often don’t learn these lessons. More about Mighty Milers and Young Runners.

A Team for Adult Runners

Helping kids while you train and race.

Adult runners in Team for Kids help NYRR provide free youth programs to the communities that need them most. TFK members receive guaranteed entry to premier NYRR races, including the ING New York City Marathon and NYC Half-Marathon, as well as race day perks and more. Members raise funds as they train. City Sports for Kids


City Sports for Kids offers skills training for children of all ability levels in long-distance running, sprints, relays, hurdles, long jump, high jump, and javelin. Classes are held weekly at the New Balance Track and Field Center at the Armory iin the spring and fall. [More]

Young Professionals Committee


This group of volunteers plans, publicizes, and attends fund-raising events. Led by a steering committee, YPC plays a critical role in connecting NYRR with businesses and corporations that are interested in sponsoring youth programs. [More]

Jamboree


These events combine track and field contests—running, jumping, and throwing—with a family health fair. Held four times each year in New York City, these fun events are open to all children ages 4 – 15 and their families—no experience is necessary. [More]
